Blackadder Rides Again is a 60 minute documentary produced by Tiger Aspect for the BBC and broadcast on December 25, 2008, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the show with filming locations being in Northumberland and Cheltenham in the UK, Uganda, Africa and Hollywood, Los Angeles, California.
It was narrated by broadcaster John Sergeant and featured interviews with all of the major cast members and other contributors, including Rowan Atkinson, Stephen Fry, Hugh Laurie, Richard Curtis, Ben Elton, Miranda Richardson, Tim McInnerny and Tony Robinson.
Rather than relying on 'talking head' interviews and clips from the show, the documentary included several pieces of rare, and even unseen material (behind the scenes clips, cut scenes from Series 1 etc.).
It also reunited certain cast and crew members with their costumes, visited cast members on their current ventures, or took them to the original filming locations, examples being Rowan Atkinson and John Lloyd traveling to Northumberland where the pilot episode for the Black Adder was filmed as well as John Lloyd traveling to Hollywood, Los Angeles, California to interview Hugh Laurie who at time of the documentary was appearing in the American medical drama, "House M.D.".
Extended interviews with the cast also appear on the "Blackadder: the Ultimate Edition" DVD which includes in order Rowan Atkinson, Stephen Fry, Richard Curtis and Ben Elton, Tony Robinson, Miranda Richardson, Hilary Bevan Jones, Hugh Laurie and Rik Mayall.
On the DVD, there's also a brief feature titled "Costumes Revisited" where Miranda Richardson, Tony Robinson, Tim McInnerny and Patsy Byrne travel to the BBC in London, reuniting with the respective costumes they wore on the show.
