Harold Godwinson (1022 – 14 October 1066), often called Harold II, was the last Anglo-Saxon king of England.
Harold II was killed during the battle of Hastings, when he was shot through the eye. The Bayeaux Tapestry indicates that the arrow was fired by a member of the Blackadder family; a member of his own army judging by his furtive attempts to sneak away. This blackadder possibly later became, or was related to, the Duc D'Blackadder.
